![]() However, this is one of the most OP units in the game: It has the ability to "incarnate" another unit. That's a tier 1 level attack, iter1 level defense, and tier 2.5 level health. It has only 2 attacks, 5 defenses, and 10 health. the ultimate unit from Dark Elf is Incarnate. (I admit AOW1's balance isn't great, but who cares as it is mainly a PvE game)Īnd the unit design is much more interesting as well and even jaw-dropping sometimes.Į.g. So each race is OPly strong in their home field. On the other hand, the entire Lizardman race can walk on the water from the beginning, except for a fire lizard who can walk on lava!Īnd some races like Goblin don't only feature a cavern walk for their underground nature, they even have units that can excavate the earth automatically by just walking through it. Each race has its own OP area but when put together, they formed some kind of balance (which I don't care much about anyway).įor example, at that time, a land army can't travel across the mountain, however, the entire Dwarf race can walk across the mountain (with a great moving cost) from the beginning, even the Tier 1 unit. What I liked most about Age of Wonders 1 is that each race stands out in its own way. I played Age of Wonders 1 massively for about 3 years in the early 2000s. I'm an old Age of Wonders fan since, well, the game was first released. ![]() ![]() (TL D I'd prefer to make each race fundamentally different and even OPly different in an interesting way like AOW1.) Not asking for a change or whining about anything. ![]()
